WELCOME TO ACCESSIBLE LEEDS
My name is Nathan Popple. I am the editor of www.accessibleleeds.com. My aim is to help you understand the wheelchair and mobility accessibility available throughout Leeds.
I am 18 years old and I have cerebral palsy. I am a wheelchair user and I also use an electronic communication aid to help me speak and edit this website.
I am a former Whizz Kidz Ambassador, former Executive Board Member of Leeds Youth Council and I support the charity 1Voice. I also help the William Merrit Centre in Leeds with their accessible gaming sessions (WMC Gamers). I believe strongly in fairness and do not think that the world should be able to disable people by not providing access to places.
The website provides up to date information of where is easy and difficult to access for wheelchair users in Leeds.
In 2013 I was awarded 'Whizz Kidz Campaigner of the Year' at the Houses of Parliament for my work as editor of AccessibleLeeds.
In 2014 I won the 'Children's Champion' award at the Child Friendly Leeds Awards for my work as editor of AccessibleLeeds.
In 2014 I also won a 'Special Recognition' award at the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards for my work as editor of AccessibleLeeds.
