Fines for Disabled parking abusers in Leeds!

Leeds City Council did the right thing by fining people who abused the use of disabled blue parking badges.

The BBC article (link above) states that legal proceedings have been brought against 95 people in the city since May and more cases are waiting to be heard!

The council used to send out warning letters to people who lent their blue badges to friends and family, but as this didn't seem to work, the council can now take back the badges of people found guilty and can also fine them a maximum of £1000.

Disabled parking in Leeds, as anywhere, is extremely valuable
and limited.  It is unfair that people who don't need it should be using a blue badge of a friend or relation!

Well done Leeds City Council!

I am Nathan. I think everything should be fair. I do not like the world disabling me just because I use a wheelchair. I want everyone to have the same chances.
