I was coming home from school the other day and two window cleaners were standing on the street. They saw me and looked at each other and one said: "Aw bless him" about me.

I am 14 years old, I live with my family who are great, I am doing very well at school and I love doing this website.

I do not want people to feel sorry for me, I do not feel sorry for myself I am very happy with an amazing future ahead of me.

So, please don't bless me. If I want blessing I will go to church. Thank you.

Nathan

Nathan, people often say "poor thing" about Lyall. There's nothing poor about Lyall well apart from the fact his mums are always skint). He loves his life and sucks every last drop of pleasure out of everyday day. You are a very inspiring person and I hope in time we will get to know you better and you can be a role model for Lyall xxx

Genius post Nathen you tell 'em!!
There used to be a radio programme called 'Does he take sugar? It was a favourite of my Mum's! It is so true that people think they can make comments or ignore the person who is in front of them!

My 13 year old (disabled) son was out with his aunt and uncle last weekend in a cafe/shop when a staff member came over and said to them "would he like a dog biscuit?"..!!! What she actually meant was a shortbread shaped like a bone that they were selling for some dog charity! But really...it made my son and his aunt and uncle laugh...but also wonder why on earth they did not just ask him..

Very well said Nathan.:)

Jenny - I am in a wheelchair and my husband is my carer. People talk to him all the time instead of me. It's almost like they see someone in a wheelchair and think they can't speak for themselves. If people ask my husband questions that should be aimed at me, he just says "I don't know. You'll have to ask her yourself". Hehe.

I am Nathan. I think everything should be fair. I do not like the world disabling me just because I use a wheelchair. I want everyone to have the same chances.
